Modern Revelation

     From modern revelation (D&C 93:29), Latter-day Saints understand that God merely brought Man's eternal, independent intelligence into spirit and, ultimately, into physical form.  The basic personality of each person, with his or her characteristics and predispositions, is, in its fundamental sense, an independent, self-conscious, eternal, uncreated entity.  Therefore, Men are, and have always been, independent agents, personally responsible for their own good or evil choices, and their circumstances are the just and beneficent result of those choices.  -Richard Hopkins
