Living Scriptures

     "We must always remember that it was the very openness of the invitation from James, encouraging readers to ask for personal revelation, that struck deeply and with great force into the heart of young Joseph Smith.  There were no living prophets to whom Joseph could go, and no living Church that he could then join.  But there were living scriptures that urged him to approach the living God!  Thus it was the living scriptures that set in motion events that would create the living Church and new living prophets."
