According to an article post on the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints website He is. The article in question is named "Race and the Priesthood." It is found on the Gospel Topic section of lds.org.
The article is a good historical walk through of past priesthood ordinations. Everything seems accurate until the so called "scholars" that contributed to the writing of the article try to sum up their message. In the last section of the article entitled, "The Church Today" they choose for some reason to barb the message by implying that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it's prophets practiced racism in the past and it won't be tolerated today. Why would these so called "scholars" attack the Church in this way and why would it be allowed to be inserted into an article and then posted on the Church's website?
The standard works of the Church has a lot to say about race. What is contained in the scriptures are not "theories" they are divine teachings from our Creator on why different race groups exist in the world. The theories that exist in the world is humanism and Darwinian evolution which are in conflict with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What is at stake is whether our conduct and behavior towards God determines our condition in this world, or whether we are descendants of chimpanzees which determines our condition in this world. If we rebel against God and His commandments during our second estate, our earthly sojourn, do we expect to be in the same saved condition in the world to come as those that did conform to the will of their Creator? Father Abraham says no (Abr. 3:26). Is Abraham one of these past "theories" that need to be disavowed? The Pearl of Great Price is not a "theory."
It seems to me that whoever these pseudo "scholars" are that summed up this article know that the doctrines found within the standard works are incompatible with the Marxist worldview of humanism and Darwinian evolution. Perhaps these "scholars" are pretending to be Mormon and are really in the Church to destroy it from within. They want the Latter-day Saints to become part of their false Babylonian belief system, they must attack any preservation of the ethnic identity of the House of Israel. What the Lord has revealed concerning race in the scriptures disproves Darwinian evolution. To get members to accept Darwinian evolution an article like this must be written disavowing the standard works and what God has said concerning the matter.
Christ is not a racist and he tells us a lot about race in the scriptures. It is shameful that the custodians of His true church upon earth would allow these so called "scholars" to imply that Christ is a racist within their article on Race and the Priesthood.
